Eligibility:

In order to qualify, you must have four to six years of experience working as a labor relations officer or consultant with large departmental portfolios (including handling grievances, arbitrating disputes, taking part in contract negotiations, enacting comprehensive workforce legislation, and mentoring human resources and management).
Any combination of extra experience, an HR certificate, and/or a second related certificate in mediation/education/negotiations may be taken into consideration along with a degree in human resources, industrial relations, or an equivalent mix of education, training, and experience.
A thorough understanding of municipal institutions and job categories, as well as practical experience in equivalent roles within other organizations.
Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to plan, create and lead cases.

Job Responsibilities:

Develops and preserves ties with the Department of Labor, other human resource offices, union reps, and governmental representatives.
